Autumn term 2 in Year 2
Welcome to Autumn 2!
We hope you have had lovely half term holiday and are ready for the second part of the Autumn term. This half term we have lots of exciting things happening including the Nativity. We will be performing 'It's a baby'. Look out for the nativity dates on our school newsletter.
The focus for Year 2 this half term continues to be the 5B's. We will now begin to recognise and reward individual children when they are using one of the following 5 B's:
Board - Is the answer around the classroom?
Book - Can I look back at my work to help me?
Buddy - Can I ask a friend for help?
Boss - If I have done all of the above then Can I ask a grown up to help me?
We will continue to develop our challenge mindset and use the tag line
'Change your words, challenge your mind'.
Please encourage your child to move challenges in their learning.
Please download the Newsletter which gives you more information about our learning this half term and the various themes we will cover.
Please continue to read with your child at home we will continue to monitor how much your child reads over the half term. We would like to see as many children as possible winning their Red Ted accessories. We are continuing reading comprehension lessons to build on the rest of the skills.
Please ensure that your child brings their reading book into school every day. If you feel that your child needs a new book please do not hesitate to go and change their book with them.
A reminder that P.E continues this year.
All children will require a P.E kit and the P.E day is Wednesday.
It is very important that your child has a change of clothes. As the weather brightens up we are looking to start P.E. outdoors. In which case your child will need trainers.
Our classroom doors are always open so please feel free to come and talk to us!
We look forward to receiving your homework. Homework menu's will be sent home with your child during the first full week of term. Please encourage and support your child to complete some homework. We always look forward to seeing what has been created.
