Welcome to Year 2!

Sherwood - VE Day

Djanogly Sherwood - We Miss You

HOME LEARNING FOR CHILDREN

We have put together some activities for children to do at home whilst they are unable to come to school. We all want our children to be happy, safe and still learning at this time.  It will also help you to keep them occupied at home for an extended period of time.

This page we will be updated with new work or messages weekly on Tuesdays. For parents of children with SEND please see the information posted by our SENCo here.

Please keep checking and keep you and your family healthy.

Best wishes from the Year 2 team

Eid Mubarak

Muslims will be celebrating Eid over the weekend around the world. We want to wish you all a Happy Eid. We hope you have a great day with your families. Please send us any photos on Seesaw. A very different Eid for you all this year but remember to stay safe #HappyEid.

Home learning tasks

Home learning tasks are now being set on the Seesaw app. All children have been sent a password for this. Please head over to Seesaw to explore the online learning tasks.

Extra home learning tasks

Music

Have a go at performing some rhythms at home using "FOUND SOUNDS". Watch this video for the full explanation: https://youtu.be/IkSTLOlAPlk

R.E

This term in RE we are looking at celebrations or Religious Festivals. Many celebrations happen once a year but in the Jewish religion, families celebrate every week with a special meal. The Sabbath or Shabbat (the Hebrew word for ‘Sabbath’) is the seventh day of the week. The Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday and lasts until nightfall on Saturday. Watch this short video and write (or draw) a list of ways that the two girls prepare for Shabbat.   https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zs2hyrd

Makaton

Have a go at remembering the makaton signs for different colours of the rainbow.

Remember to look after your mind and body by going outside for fresh air, washing your hands, eating healthily, drinking water, taking screen breaks and being kind and helpful to your family!
