Welcome to Spring 1
Another amazing week with lots of fantastic work from children in school and online. Thank you so much for all of your hard work. Please take the time to have a look at some of the online learning completed this week.
We will have our online zoom sessions on Monday 25th January 2021 at 2.30 pm with Miss Ahmed and Tuesday 26th January 2021 at 2.00 pm with Mrs Christensen. Children at home should have received the live session information. If your child is at school then they will attend this session with the adult teaching on that day.
If you have any questions about the work or would like to speak to the Year Two team then you can contact us on Seesaw directly or through the admin email below. Please use the class timetable below.
All children now have access to Seesaw and timetables rock stars. Please encourage your child to use these websites.
Next week on Seesaw 25.1.21
In our Maths learning we will look at the following areas:
Representing numbers to 100
Identifying tens and ones using a part part whole model
Knowing how to use a place value chart
Comparing numbers using greater than, less than and equal to.
We will continue with our pirate theme this week and will begin with our Geography lessons. In Geography we will learn about aerial photographs, compass directions, map symbols and create our own treasure maps. Lots of children were interested about the continents of the world so we will also study different animals around the world.
This week we will read the story 'A New Home for Jed' this is a particular favourite of mine. We will sequence the story, use expanded noun phrases to describe Jed's house and explore different ways in which we can make our writing more interesting.
