Summer term 2 in Year 2

Welcome to Summer 2!

We hope you have had a wonderful half term break. We will start the week off with learning all about 'Me and my future' as part of our learning power session. Throughout the day the children will think about their feelings, future and goals for this half term. On Tuesday we will launch our 'WOW curriculum day'. We continue to explore Australia as our curriculum topic however we will investigate the country, culture and famous landmarks.

Hedley's focus this half term:

  • Develop independence and use the 5B's.

  • We are working on developing our challenge mindset and using the tag line

'Change your words, challenge your mind'

  • Preparing for Year 3 and transition.

Year 2 Sleepover and Mablethorpe trip

The day trip is on Friday 21st June. The children will sleepover at school and will need to be collected on Saturday 22nd June. The parents meeting is on Tuesday 4th June at 3 pm.

The meeting will give you more information about the sleepover. We will also need parents to sign a consent form.

Please download the Newsletter which gives you more information about our learning this half term and the various themes we will cover.

Please continue to read with your child at home we will continue to monitor how much your child reads over the half term. We would like to see as many children as possible winning their Red Ted accessories. We are continuing reading comprehension lessons to build on the rest of the skills.

Please ensure that your child brings their reading book into school every day. If you feel that your child needs a new book please do not hesitate to go and change their book with them.

A reminder that P.E continues this year.

All children will require a P.E kit and the P.E day is Wednesday.

It is very important that your child has a change of clothes. As the weather brightens up we are looking to start P.E. outdoors. In which case your child will need trainers.

Our classroom doors are always open so please feel free to come and talk to us!

 Homework Menu

We look forward to receiving your homework. Homework menu's will be sent home with your child during the first full week of term. Please encourage and support your child to complete some homework. We always look forward to seeing what has been created.
