Spring term 2 in Year 2
Welcome to Spring 2!
Welcome to Land Ahoy! This half term we are starting our new curriculum theme which is called Land Ahoy. We will be aboard the Christopher Colombus expedition and will experience what it was like to be a part of his crew. We will learn about pirates both good and bad and focus on the music curriculum this half term. We would really like to see your children having a go at some of this learning at home. Please use the homework menu as a guide and choose some activities to do. Once these are completed then bring them in to school to share with the class teachers.
P.E. this half term will continue to be on a Friday but will now be led by Miss Ahmed and Mrs Moore.
Please download the Newsletter which gives you more information about our learning this half term and the various themes we will cover.
Please continue to read with your child at home we will continue to monitor how much your child reads over the half term. We would like to see as many children as possible winning their Red Ted accessories. We are continuing reading comprehension lessons to build on the rest of the skills.
Please ensure that your child brings their reading book into school every day. If you feel that your child needs a new book please do not hesitate to go and change their book with them.
A reminder that P.E continues this year.
All children will require a P.E kit and the P.E day is Friday.
It is very important that your child has a change of clothes. As the weather brightens up we are looking to start P.E. outdoors. In which case your child will need trainers.
Our classroom doors are always open so please feel free to come and talk to us!
We look forward to receiving your homework. Homework menu's will be sent home with your child during the first full week of term. Please encourage and support your child to complete some homework. We always look forward to seeing what has been created.
