Where Everyone Belongs

School Council

Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.

Sherwood School Council is made up of members from each class in Year 1 - 6 and who have been elected by the rest of their year group. We have a Chairperson and Vice Chair to oversee the meetings. Meetings are held at least once every half term and are chaired by Mrs Yeatman.  Councilors are tasked with bringing ideas from their year groups to the meetings, making plans, voting and debating ideas and then providing feedback to their classes.

School Council have had a say in things such as; behaviour rewards, after-school clubs and fundraising ideas. In 2018-19 we have successfully organised bake sales and been involved in planning Comic Relief, Sport Relief, Children In Need and organised events for the Spring Fair

We raised £158 for comic relief in March 2019.

We look forward to a new round of elections in the Autumn Term where new children will have a chance to become School Council Ambassadors.
