Welcome to Shaftsbury Class!

Spring 1 Newsletter

Blitz Street

A siren sounds, a building crumbles, a Spitfire zooms overhead. Take cover. It’s 1939 and Britain is at war. Deep down in the Caves, the residents of Nottingham take shelter but resources are lost! Horrible Histories will tell us all about the foul facts like who made a meal out of maggots  and fly invested jungle trenches. Let us go back in time to find out all about War Time Britain!

Our driver subjects for this term's project are History and Geography. This half term we will also be learning about Electrical circuits in Science. In our DT lessons, we will be designing and building using cogs and levers. RE lessons will be learning about world religious views and sharing our own views about charity. We are doing brilliantly in our Spanish lessons and this half term we will be learning to speak about the weather. Our P.E lessons will now be on a Tuesday afternoon. These will outdoors so please make sure you have appropriate PE kit.

Our DARE sessions will begin on Tuesday 11th January. These will happen every week for 10 weeks with a graduation assembly at the end. Please read the parents sheet for more information.
