At Djanogly Sherwood Academy, we are committed to providing our children with high aspirations for their futures. We want every child, no matter their background to be successful in their career choices, enabling powerful, resilient, informed and ambitious children to thrive in a challenging and competitive world. 

How we support Careers related learning at Djanogly Sherwood Academy

We aim to provide every child in our school with a variety of quality experiences and interactions with a range of people from different jobs. We feel it is essential for children to meet people from the world of work and explore the types of jobs that are available to them in the future. This allows them to develop an ideal job from an early age and raise their aspirations and work hard for what they want to achieve.

We follow the 8 Gatsby benchmarks to ensure a valuable and stable Careers curriculum is provided across the school.

We want our children to understand that any job is possible no matter what their background, gender or abilities are. As long as they work hard and believe they can achieve!

After School Enrichment:

We aim to provide high quality clubs for children to take part in after school, staff are committed to providing essential skills for children to learn and develop throughout the year in addition to their daily learning. We link our clubs to to famous people in that role so that children can hook their learning onto someone of relevance and see the purpose for learning these vital skills and be able to apply them in the future.
